been listening in on the list for quite a while now, learnt some
interesting stuff, had some thought provoking stimuli, and now i
write to you all because i need help. i feel like i'm cracking up, an
effect i'm sure d + g would welcome wholeheartedly. the problem is
this whole body without organs business. i've been trying to use the
theories of d + g in capitalism and schizophrenia for about six
months now, and have finally got to grips with just about everything.
in fact, i thought i'd got it all down, and then i started reading
philip goodchild's new book, an introduction to the politics of
desire, and some of my ideas on the bwo started to crumble around me.
i can basically grasp the concept of everything, except for why it is
antiproduction. i understand that some processes are diminutive in
nature, such is the nature of biological processes, and therefore any
such process will  be a positive production of diminution, but why is
it that the body without organs is always antiproduction feeding back
into the process of production? why is it that desiring machines only
work by breading down and in the process of breaking down forming a
body without organs? why is it that an undifferentiated mass is
formed that stops dead for a moment and becomes the bwo? i guess i
can't really see why there is this constant halting in the processes
of desire and why the bwo is therefore a model of death in the
unconscious. can anyone try and clear this up for me, i feel like i'm
losing it totally at the moment. i don't know if it's because i'm
seeing it but from too close, or whether i really can't get over this
last hurdle.
gratefully in advance
g
