Stamp duty for property registration to be reduced by 2 pc

Even for getting funds under the JNNURM, reduction of stamp duty was a condition. The Urban Development Ministry has already sanctioned Rs 298 crore under JNNURM for building low-cost houses, but the money will be released only if Delhi signs an MoU with the ministry about reducing the stamp duty. “The decision will pave way for getting funds for boosting infrastructure development,” said a senior government official.
