More than 200 acres, allotted by MCD in Bawana and Bhalaswa in north-west Delhi, have come under the CBI scanner, besides the allotments made by DDA. Owners of jhuggi-jhonpris who had been displaced before 1992 were allotted plots measuring 20 sq m. The size of the plot was reduced to 12.5 sq m after 1992 and a number of documents were required to be furnished before allotments were made.
......................
The agency, which recovered several documents that run into thousands of pages during its raids on the premises of Malhotra and five DDA officials, found that the canteen contractor of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha had bought a number of plots in other resettlement colonies, including Narela, Badarpur and Molarband, as well during 2000-2006.
