These were the questions I asked my 69 year old guide who likes to call himself 'KB'

He replied with a smile, you can call it both as we are going to have some food as well as 2-3 hours of rest at this place. By then the lady arrived to take the order, seeing that KB looking at me said, at this place, you won't get a menu to choose from, they only serve the local dishes like dal chawal. Will that work for you? I replied I would love that. Speaking Nepali, he placed an order for both us to the lady.

He further continued, here you will see the situation of every house precisely like this, everybody needs money to earn a living, and here tourism is the way through which we make our living. While the food was being prepared using vegetables freshly plucked from the backyard of the house, we both choose to sit in the kitchen and continue our conversation. He added, usually, the man in the house has to go somewhere else to find work like Kathmandu or somewhere in India and the woman and children stay here and run a small business like this. This is how life in the mountains is like. Sometimes children don't get to see their father for months or even years in a row. After a while, food was served to us, and the hospitality of the lady made us feel homely. We have had our lunch, which was delicious and left from there to continue our journey to reach Monjo.
