The article evaluates the World Trade Center (WTC) of New York City and Bamiyan Buddhas of Bamian region, Afghanistan as negative heritage of the World. The "World Monuments Watch," a global program to list world monuments has listed the WTC as site 101 in their register of 100 endangered sites. Earlier in 2001, it has featured Ground Zero as a place of heritage. The president and the chairman of the World Monuments Watch has described that the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan and the WTC have become targets for terrorists because they define the cultures, ideals and achievements of the people who have created them.
