Œuvres hypermédiatiques, photoreportages alternatifs, bandes dessinées documentaires, insertion d’images fixes dans les journaux télévisés, production de mèmes photographiques, publication de livres d’artistes, nombreux sont les réemplois à des fins documentaires, testimoniales ou simplement ludiques d’images photographiques issues du Web. Que traduisent ces tentatives de ralentissement et stabilisation des flux visuels? L’ordonnancement, la mise en récit ou l’iconisation inhérente à ces pratiques a-t-elle pour fonction de redonner une singularité aux images? Est-ce que ces «arrêts sur images» ne créent pas un antagonisme entre la dynamique des flux et la thésaurisation archivistique? Cette journée d’étude tentera quelques réponses à ces relectures de l’image fixe.
Hypermedia works, alternative photo-reportage, documentary comics, insertion of still images in television news, production of photographic memes, publication of artists' books, there are many reuses for documentary, testimonial or simply playful purposes of photographic images from the web. What do these attempts to slow down and stabilize visual flows entail? Does the sequencing, narrativization or iconization inherent to these practices give back a uniqueness to the image? Don’t these "freeze frames" create an antagonism between the dynamics of flows and archival hoarding? This seminar will attempt some answers to these reinterpretations of the still image.
