KOLHAPUR: The state's decision to construct an international-standard memorial of Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj on the Shahu mill premises has got a push forward with the Council of Architects (CoA) accepting the civic body's invitation to participate in a competition to come up with a unique design for the proposed monument.

The CoA has assigned four members as juries for the competition, of which three are from Mumbai and one from Pune. The KMC had earlier proposed a panel of juries comprising seven members to review the designs submitted.

Madhav Deobhakta, Rajiv Mishra, Sunil Degawekar (all from Mumbai) and Rajiv Raje (from Pune) are the members assigned by the CoA for the panel. COA president Uday Gadkari has sent a letter accepting the KMC's invitation and assigned the names
