While coming back from Bhimbetka, the archeological site of ancient caves, we visited the famous Bhojeshwar Mahadev Temple, popularly known as Bhojpur temple.
We somehow managed to reach before it got closed around 6 in the evening. It is supposed to have been built in the 11th century and certainly a incomplete one. But still it was completed enough to house a gigantic Shiva Linga, almost 2.5 meter high, placed on large square pedestal. Seemed rather tight in the garbha griha. Pooja and other rituals are still continuing.
