The two dining halls and the two separate kitchens were an outcome of the demand that the cooking done for non-vegetarian meals should be separated from that for vegetarian meals, with separate cooking equipment.
The roof over the dining halls supported by four brick masonry pilasters carried hollow beams to accommodate air- cooling supply air ducts and clerestory ventilation system. The long covered porch connecting the two dining halls serve as entrances, as also places to meet before and after meals. Right above the porch are located the faculty dining spaces served by their own kitchens. The positions of these halls are at the end of the classroom corridor and at the end of the street that serves the dormitories. The building was completed for use in 1978
