This lecture presents a wide body of new work being made by photographers and artists as they look back at modernist architecture and planning across the world. A shift from straight architectural photography, artists are engaging with more complex histories of lived modernism, many through photography. Rahman focuses on the demolition of the modern architecture of Delhi, and his two photo installations at the Houston Fotofest and the Gwangju Biennale in Korea are based on the social, historical and political aspects of architectural site, through photography.
